Our Recreational Gymnastics Programs
Recreational Gymnastics
Objectives:
To help make your child become a happier, healthier and more athletic individual with good character.
Develop self-confidence, excitement in learning, and athletic ability in a fun and exciting setting.
Benefit from increased physical activity and improvement in strength, flexibility, and coordination.
Features:
Students follow SGA’s curriculum which is designed as a series of progressions and attainable goals
Students are able to track their success with a “You Are a Star” chart that is sent home at the beginning of the semester.
Students are encouraged through our skills recognition program:
When a child reaches proficiency in a set of skills on the beam, bars, vault, floor, flexibility, and strength they are invited to share with their instructor.
Students will then be presented with a ribbon for each event. When a student has received all four ribbons for their level they will earn their certificate and progress to the next level.
Level 1 (yellow ribbons) and Level 2 (blue ribbons) are taught in a 55 minute class.
Level 3 (red ribons) and Level 4 (purple ribbons) are taught in an hour and 25 minute class
Gymnasts may be selected for our Competitive Team program as their skills progress.
All students are invited to show off their hard work and talent in our performance group known as the SGA Stars Studio Program!
If a child has prior gymnastics experience, we ask that a short evaluation appointment be arranged to insure proper placement.
Competitive Gymnastics
Competitive Gymnastics at Summit Gymnastics Academy is about teamwork and competition. Gymnists work hard on routines, skills, and strength in order to compete at the state level while building discipline and self-confidence.
